These arise when a spellcaster creates an undead being from the corpse of a doppelganger or other creature that assumes other's visages. Tortured by their inability to minic others, they steal the faces of those they kill, trapping their souls by defiling their corpses. The presence of a defacer is long announced by the endless wailing and screaming of its faces.
