Green Tooth

Chaotic Evil Female Black Dragon

Ancient and malicious, Green Tooth dwells in the Ardent Swamps where she often masquerades as a hideously ugly, blind hag. She is nearly always accompanied by Asarg, a gray render that adopted her after she was abandoned by her mother when she was but a hatchling, allowing her to mature and grow in power.
    Green Tooth, named for the particularly lengthy and twisted green fang that drips from her mouth, has a weakness for the taste of elfin flesh, a delicacy that rarely visits her swamps. Evil or desperate travelers can bargain safe passage across the Ardent Swamps with the promise of elfin flesh for a meal. She is also greedy and so a particularly interesting magical item might also entice her to lead a band of adventurers safely through the swamp. Travelers should beware though, for Green Tooth is tricksy and will quickly betray any whose valuables she covets. She gleefully misleads incautious parties deep into the swamps to let the lands curse change them into trolls which she later enslaves beneath her will.
    Adventurers are most likely to encounter Green Tooth while in the vicinity of the Ardent Swamps. She lairs in its center but frequently takes hag form and wanders along the swamp edges and at the banks of the Ardent or Azure rivers with her gray render protector, looking for travelers who are thinking about crossing or avoiding the swamp. When she finds wanderers at the swamp edges she tries to get them to cross the river, preferably by making use of the Black Boatman so that they are trapped on the swamp side of the river with little recourse but to continue through to the other side. Though truly a dragon, Green Tooth prefers to masquerade as a vile, old hag when she is not in her lair or hunting large game.
    Green Tooth is blind, the result of an accident when she was young with the swamps witch-light fires that burn at night. However, her other dragon senses have grown even stronger and she has no problem "seeing" as well as any other dragon. Her sense of hearing and smell are enough that she easily can navigate while flying as any other dragon. In short, she suffers no penalty for her lack of sight, but does gain the benefit of not being affected by the dark of night, magical darkness, or other weaknesses or magicks that depend on eyesight. She delights in discomforting travelers by asking to touch their face with her deformed hag-hands.
