When in repose, a carrionette appears to be nothing more than a brightly painted wooden marrionette, though the strings that normally accompany such a construction are absent and they are perfectly capable of moving about without a puppeteer. A carrionette is capable of switching its mind into the body of its victim, imprisoning its victim's mind, for a time, in the body of the carrionette.
