Inhabiting isolated tropical islands, these are a race of intelligent humanoids which are born as twins; one bestial (taylang) and the other demihuman (tayling). They cannot bear to be apart. The taylang is always vaguely humanoid of form but may have some resemblance to any manner of woodland creature.
