Exemplars of karmic retribution, these were once practitioners of strict philosophies who indulged themselves in forbidden pleasures without apology. Such beings who were overcome with shame and guilt become rokurokubi, which appear human, but can stretch their necks to impossibly long lengths. Most are female, though some males are known to exist.
