Created from the spirits of soldiers by wizards in the Land of Unknown Shadows and sent into the Plain of Glittering Stone to stop the armies which passed through those lands. They are capable of devouring souls, leaving behind only dried husks of their victims. They are vaguely man-shaped blobs of darkness.
