Communities of intelligent, nocturnal insects, somewhat similar to ant colonies. Unlike ants, the large parasitic members of a hivebrood live by infesting other beings, controlling, and eventually destroying the hosts in the process. Lieutenants are larger and stronger than the average soldier, but otherwise resemble the soldiers that they lead.
