Appearance
The aloof and stoic elfin race of the Galiedre are a sharp contrast to their Lerether cousins, preferring a lifestyle of careful reserve and tenacity. The Galiadre are graceful, poised, and slender human-like beings. Most stand at, or a little less than, 5 feet tall and rarely weigh more than 100 pounds. Their skin complexion is a creamy grey and their hair is often a deep brown, subdued grey, to raven black. Their eyes are often a nutty hazel, fern green, or stormy grey color. They do not grow facial hair.
Galiadre shun trifles of jewelery almost as much as they avoid contact with strangers. Their clothing matches the darker hues of the deep temperate woodlands, often cunningly patterned to show traces of leaves, animals, flowing water, or tree bark styled imagery within their weave.
Most races consider the Galiadre to be stuck-up and arrogant. Galiadre don't seem to mind this perception, thinking that it discourages other races from interacting with them. It is true then that the Galiadre are often a proud and unyielding race, prone to keeping lengthy grudges against those who wrong them.
The Galiadre are soft-spoken, their poetic language is flowing, steady, and with little variation in enunciation. One idea flows into the next in a way that suggests some deep relationship between all things both spoken and not spoken of. The vocabulary and design of the language is not difficult to learn, but the philosophy, sensation, and poetic craft that distinguishes a native of the language takes many decades to develop.

Combat
Galiadre rarely enter combat with other civilized races without warning. Such warning may be an envoy or a warning arrow. Most Galiadre simply want to be left alone by outsiders, wishing to only encounter other races when it is on the Galiadre's terms. Most Galiadre see combat to be a crude, distasteful, but necessary savagery. Galiadre are fierce warriors when driven to fight, offering mercy when required, but more commonly they unhesitatingly execute their opponent.
Galiadre fight using scattered guerilla tactics, wearing their enemy down with ranged and diversionary attacks before closing in. Galiadre warriors pursue combat training as a craft to be perfected and they are known to be vicious and cunning warriors. While swordsmanship can be a beautiful dance when displayed by a Galiadre warrior, such prettiness is quickly traded for effectiveness in melee.
Shape Stone (Sp): Once per day a Galiadre can use this ability by concentrating for a full round and using this ability in the next round. The power works just like the spell stone shape except that the Galiadre can only affect 5 cubic feet of stone. The elf must touch the stone and vocalize a low humming song to shape it. Magical items receive a Fortitude saving throw against this power (see the saving throw rules under Strike an Object in Chapter 8 of the Player's Handbook.
Low-light Vision (Ex): Galiadre can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, etc.
Resistances (Ex): +2 racial bonus to Will saves against enchantment and illusion spells or effects. Because of their slow metabolism and medatative bodily attunement, Galiadre receive a +1 to all poison saves.
Immunities (Ex): Unaffected by magical sleep spells and effects.
Skills: +2 racial bonus to Search, Spot, and Listen checks. Galiadre receive a +2 bonus to all Stoneworking Craft skill checks. A Galiadre who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check as though actively looking for it.

Habitat/Society
Dwelling in forested mountain valleys, Galiadre build their homes from living stone, magically shaped into breathtakingly beautiful towers that soar into the treetops and cling to mountinous cliffsides with supernatural grace. Twining about these buildings are trees and vines, carefully tended to and shaped over decades and centuries to conform, compliment, and help support the shape of these magnificent edifices. Proud of their racial purity, the Galiadre are the most fervently against halfbreeds when compared to other elfin races which associate with humankind and other humanoid races. Where the Lerether are masters of political ettiquette and social grace, the Galiadre are masters of quiet meditation, patient artistry, and magical craft.
Galiadre are a centric race, most being content to live out their lengthy lives in the same forest village, rarely leaving to wander about the world. Custom demands that the first son follows in the craft of his forefathers while later sons are sent to learn another craft from a nearby family. Daughters are brought up as caretakers in the community, fulfilling social needs and binding families together.
Since Galiadre rarely travel far from their ancient woodlands, powerful Galiadre wizards employ divinations to gather information about the world beyond their forested homeland.

Ecology
Galiadre live lives of calculated restraint and aloofness of almost zen-like quality. They partake of food lightly, share little of their emotions, and face danger with calm repose. Their pleasures are meditative works of beauty, the accumulation of knowledge, and a personal communion with the earth and nature. They are often slow to act but endless in their determination.
They hunt sparingly and are resentful of other races use of their wildlife full lands as hunting reserves. They are omnivorous, but consume a healthy diet filled with vegatibles grown from the earth.

History
Testiment to the Galiadre's patient approach to action, between the years of 12874 and 12881AC the Galiadre elves of the Alfheim waged a war against the beleagured United Kingdom to reclaim their ancestral lands from the humans after almost five-thousand years after humans had resettled the lands and annexed it as their own.
Only being several generations for the Galiadre elves, the incursion was still recent history for them, while for the humans of the United Kingdoms, that the lands were ever the elven lands had passed into forgotten legend.
Frought with civil strife and still rebuilding after the devestating War of the Black Scourge (12859-12872AC), the United Kingdoms could only offer token resistance as the Galiadre slowly reoccupied their forefathers lands and divided the nation in two.
